Characteristics of Chestnut Honey:

• Colour: Very dark amber with characteristic brownish-green hues.
• Aroma: Intense floral notes with a marked woody component, reminiscent of dry wood.
• Taste: Predominantly sweet with very distinctive salty notes and a slight bitter finish.
• Crystallisation: Low tendency; it usually remains fluid for long periods due to its natural composition.
• Origin: Harvested between May and July in chestnut forests of the north-west (Galicia, Asturias, León) and areas of Andalusia.

Usage and Storage Tips:

• Storage: Keep at room temperature in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight.
• Natural Fluidity: If it solidifies due to cold, it can be gently warmed in a bain-marie (maximum 40ºC) to restore its liquid texture without degrading its enzymes. Not recommended for children under 1 year of age.
• Pairings: Its intensity makes it perfect for accompanying legumes, hummus, autumn salads, cured cheeses, and game or lamb meats.
